 Hello, Today in film study we needed to answer 3 question with a lot of photos. the questions were.

1. Describe the lighting in the image

2. What mood/atmosphere does the lighting create?

3. Why might have the director chosen this lighting?

We are learning about colour and lighting. And how they are used in scenes and movies. Something interesting that i learned is the colour codes for moods, such as. Green is happy. Red is mad. Black is scary. Blue is sick. I want to learn more about camera angles and if there are any more than just the ones that i have learnt over the pass few weeks

Art

Hello, In art we have been making art in photoshop. there are many different types of art styles that we have been learning about. Painting all over our photos, painting random pieces over the photos, circles and split shapes over the page, Black and white, Rotating images. And a lot more than just them. I made a collage of them where I color the whole building and just that. 

I like the way my learning went and how my art work turned out in the end. there were a bit mess ups every now and then. But I fixed them and now they look better. Do they look good to you? There were no sources that I got this information from.

Hello, for this period we needed to make a 100 word challenge, about a life size bubble that can take you anywhere you want, it took me on an adventure to the moon. The moon is a very weird place, Trust me. Here is the story I made 

I go to the woods to have a look around, I see a HUGE bubble. A life size bubble. I decided to jump in it, I thought it would pop. I got the thought of  the moon, it's like it read my mind, because I'm now floating up into the sky. 2 hours later I see the moon in the distance. I'm getting closer and closer. When I finally got to the moon I saw other people there, someone was putting a flag down on the moon, what was the reason? I do not know, But It's amazing being here.

How to be an Upstander

Today for our pink shirt day activity we had to read a book about "How To Be An Upstander". So we have to write what to do to help? and what the result would be if we helped.

 1. Action: Support the person that is being bullied.

a. Result:  They may feel better about themselves and gain self-confidence.

2 Action: Interrupt the bully so he stops for a bit.

a. Result: Take the person getting bullied for a walk or something.

3 Action: Let the bully know what they are doing is not okay and they must stop.

a. Result: The bully may say sorry and stop bullying the person.

4 Action: Leave the scene and try to ignore it, tell a teacher.

a. Result: The teacher can sort it before all the damage is done.

4 Action: Give the person getting bullied some support.

a. Result: The bully might back off because now it is a 2v1 against them

Badge Of Honour - Josh

 Today we read a book called Badge Of Honour, its about 2 school captains. one of them gets into a fight and a teacher finds out. I have added what think happened in the rest of the story. Here is what I think happened in the last part of the story:

Miss Latu walks up to the boys. “What were you doing last night Tomasi?”. “I was at Isaacs's house last night,” Said Tomasi, with a grin on his face. Miss Latu looks confused. “Why do you have a bruise under your eye then?”. Tomasi looks scared and doesn't know what to say. Isaac kicks in and says “we were skateboarding last night and he fell off”. Miss Latu looks confused once again. “Why was I told that you were fighting other people last night?” Miss Latu said. Tomasi is still scared and still doesn't know what to say. “Miss, we are school captains, we would never do anything like that.” Miss Latu says “ok boys I can trust you this time I guess.” Miss Latu walks away and the boys laugh. Luckily Miss Latu didn't hear them and just walked away.

Pink Shirt Day 2020

Today in Wananga we have been working on a bullying thing about Pink Shirt Day. A kid who was bullied by kids for wearing a pink shirt to school. So there is a story about what happened and how people came to stand up against bullying and try to stop it. 2 men by the name of David and Travis brought a bunch of pink shirts to wear for the day. This is how Pink Shirt Day came along, now it is a well known day all around the world.

Cross Mania - Business day

Yesterday was market day, so at the very start we set all of our stuff up. We made a basketball business, Mr. Scott kindly gave us a basketball hoop to use. Then we got a table and the advertising poster we made. We had a bowl of lollies for people who played, 1-2 each. and the winner got a basketball. Jayden won the basketball with 11 points. The runner ups were someone with 8 and someone with 9. In the end, we just gave all of the lollies out to people that played.

The profit of the business we made was $9. Maybe next time we could be more active and know exactly what we were doing. Then we would make more money and make a bunch more profit. 

Cross Mania

Hello, Business and Enterprise is where people get into groups and make a business that is profitable and is good for other people to play or eat. You have a budget of $20 and can spend it on your resources that you need for your business, you can spend all of it if you want if you go over the $20 budget then you cannot buy that certain thing. anyone can attend and come, it is on the 23rd, on Wednesday week ten.

For business we are making a basketball game, 2 dollars for 1 game, you have 1 minute to get the most in, the 1st place gets the basketball. 2nd place gets 1 bag of  Fruit Bursts, and 3rd place gets fruit bursts. and the other people that play get 1 fruit burst each. Josh is the CEO of the group. Matangi is a business manager, and Levi is the production manager. 

I am excited about making our product and having people play it, it has been hard to have everyone here on every working day and actually completing all of our work on the deadline.

• The learning that we did was about Hannah Höch and her artwork, I have made 3 artworks of photomontage, this is pieces of different pictures and connecting then to other pieces. we needed to make 8-9 scrap pages of random photos and then 3 photomontages with them all connected together. I made these because they look cool and aesthetic. can I please have feedback on the work I have done to see what I need to work on or what I should do less of.

Inclusiveness

Hello, for the past week or 2 we have been working on a slideshow about inclusiveness and including others no matter their race, gender, height, beliefs, ethnicity. No matter what that one person is, still including them. there may be a new person at school and you just believe that they are a certain race. you may not like them because they are a certain gender or they just have a different personality that you may not like.

There is a man playing chess with himself, he places one of the pieces on another spot then goes onto the other chair and takes out the other side piece. He goes on until there is only 1 of his pieces left, He has a heart problem and falls to the floor but the kind does not fall over, then the other one is not looking he swaps the board around so he wins. the game ended very well after Geri 2 cheated and won.

200 Word Challenge About A Bird

Today we needed to make a 200-word story about a song from Forrest Gump, it was a feather theme song. I made the story about a bird seeking food for its family, Enjoy!






This music reminds me of a lullaby that babies listen to to get to sleep. There once was a bird flying in the sky, seeking some food for its little babies. The bird drops to the floor and finds a bucket of worms. The bird tries to pick up the bucket, but it's too heavy. The bird grabs some worms and takes them back up to its nest, it gives the worms to the babies and they have a big feast. But then the bird leaves to pick up the bucket again, but it's gone!?, where did it go?






There was a man walking away holding the bucket in his hand. The bird tries to catch up and take more work, but he gets in a car and drives off, the bird keeps flying to find more food. He cannot find his family anymore, he keeps flying peacefully.





A hunter tried to shoot him but missed, and again and again until he finally hit the bird, luckily it only hit the bird's feather and it came off the bird, the feather slowly fell until it hit the hunter on the head. The bird finds its family and happy ever after...

Medieval Poor & Rich

What was life like in the middle ages? Interestingly the poor and the rich were very different from each other. The poor needed to farm for money to be alive, the rich people could just make money and give it to the poor for food in return. The poor people could not do much apart from sleep and farm, They weren't even allowed to shower oftenly. This is important because the poor people never had a sustainable life.

100 word story: Zed The Zebra And The Tightrope

This is a 100-word story about Zed the Zebra and the frightening tightrope.

Hi, I'm Zed the Zebra, I'm performing my greatest stunt of 2020, walking across a tightrope that's smaller than my feet. When I look down I see the buildings underneath me. I slipped off but I caught a glimpse of the buildings and caught on as fast as I could, I managed to get back up but almost fell again, my zookeeper was cheering me on as he saw I got back up onto the tightrope. I was 20 meters away from the end of the tightrope. I slipped at the end, they caught me and got me up Thankfully.

There was a grizzly bear going through the forest looking for food, it saw a lake full of water and fish, he tries to cross the lake, the current was pulling him down to a waterfall, he was not going to let that happen, he keeps jumping trying to get across, he saw a fish in the water, he leaps for it and barely gets it But then he saw that he was about to fall, he very barely made it across the lake, then he happily ate the fish and went into hibernation , it was a very long hibernation.

Distillation

Aim: To separate a solute from solvent in a solution using distillation.


Equipment: Coke or coke zero, conical flask, heatproof mat, a delivery tube, bung, element, retort, boss head,clamp, 
boiling tube. 

Method:Setup the equipment as shown in diagram.Add approximately 50ml of coke to your conical flask. Turn on
the element. Heat the Coke until most of the it has been evaporated and turned into a clear liquid in the over tube. Turn off your element.

Observations: At the start the coke started to bubble, the bubbles went to the side of the flask, After the
flask had condensation. Soon the coke really started boiling and it started creating a liquid in the boiling tube.  At the end there will be brown sticky sugar left over. The coke had quite a bit of sugar left over and surprisingly the coke zero also had sugar left over.

Hello Today in Drama we got told to make a story telling what teenagers nowadays are doing. In this we were meant to Put an image of something relate able towards it and also add a song, In this case we decided to make it that teenagers are addicted to technology so then our scene is a fire inside of a house and then the kid doesn't listen to his mother and then he calls the firefighters to help him- Once the firefighters come the music plays and then he goes towards the kid taking his phone and then grabs him to safety and the kid realises what happened and says "sorry I should have been paying more attention" Here is the music we added to our story and the picture we chose towards our scene!

In health we discussed "online relationships and real-life relation ships."

Some people might think that they are not as important because people online can lie about whatever they want and get away with it. or even because its hard to show friendship online. also because people can ghost, ghosting means that people leave you on seen or just not talk to you for a long time.

On the other hand people may think. that they are as healthy and reliable because maybe if you have a long term relationship you will need to talk to them via text or Instagram, anything you can talk to people online with. 

Another point of view on this issue is. you need the internet or letters for long term relationships

In conclusion I think that online relations ships are not as important as real life relationships.

1. Pour approximately 50mL of copper sulfate solution into a beaker.

2. Add the same volume of sodium carbonate solution. A reaction will happen, you should see a cloudy blue precipitate form. Called copper carbonate. 

3. Watch demo then fold filter paper to fit inside the funnel

4. Place the funnel with the filter paper inside of it, into the mouth of a conical flask. 

5. Stir the mixture in the beaker, then carefully pour it into the funnel. 

6. Observe what happened.

New Expectations

 Scene: In A Bar In The  Wild West.
(X) We were drinking and 1 of us had a gun had guns involved in the play.

Today we created a Scene or a play, my group was Tyler, Alex, Kaedun and I. Kaedun and Tyler were drinking their drinks and Alex was refilling their drinks. then he killed them and I took the shovel and left with it

Director - Wants to create a happy and safe atmosphere in Mr Brown's classroom, even though it feels this way Julien and Amos's behaviour is unkind.

In the scene of August's first day at school, lighting & colour are used to create a safe and welcoming classroom environment.  For instance, Bright warm colours are used on the walls and natural light come through the windows to make the space look lively. this made the audience feel excited, inspired, and that the space is educational an supportive for learning, This was done to show Mr Brown had created a classroom space that would be welcoming to mew students like Auggie
coinciding with this the use of body language. the children in the room are sitting up smiling and paying lots of attention, they are learning ready, this reminds the viewers of kindness because of the lighting and the colour make the room welcoming for all students

Book Review, The Witches, Roald Dahl

For this term, I have read a book called The Witches By Roald Dahl. It was a book about witches that hate kids and wanted all of them dead, they made a Formula that made every kid turn into a mouse. They did this so that the witches can kill them easier.

Also because a lot of people hate mice and they would put mouse traps all over the place to kill them. The mice were house mice so more people liked them. But then the kid made everyone and the witched turn to mice.  I like this book because it is funny and a long book I would have to give this book a 9/10.

 I selected to read this book because I like all of the other Roald Dahl books so I thought this one might be good. it is a great book, I would recommend it to any age. my favorite part was the part where the kid turned all the witches to mice. The Characters were Grandma Kid and the Witches.

Food Testing, Nutrients

Aim: The Aim is to learn about simple or complex sugars, Protein, and foods. and we should try to identify if one food is a complex, simple, protein or carbohydrate food. The food we will be testing on and all of the nutrients are Bread,  Sugar, Egg, Apple, Milk, and Potato.

Hypothesis. What I think is in each foodsFor the Hypothesis, I think That the Bread is a complex, Sugar or lollies is simple sugar an egg would be protein, And Apple would be a Complex, Milk would be a Protein Etc...

Method:
Iodine, we used two drops of iodine in each food...
The Foods, Apple, Banana, Potato.
If the food turned black that means they are a complex sugar
If they turn another color they are a simple sugar
Result: They All seemed to turn black that means they are all Complex

we also put two drops iodine in another bunch of food samples.
Our Test 2 food samples turned yellowish, brownish. that means there are no complex sugars in the foods...


Aim: To test if a sample of food contains protein.

Equipment: Test Tube, Sodium hydroxide, Copper sulfate, Food sample

Method:
1. Place about 2ml of the sample into a test tube and add 5 drops of sodium hydroxide
2. Add 5 drops of copper sulfate
3. Skate the test tube gently from side to side

Results: 
Milk and egg Positive.
Apple, potato, bread, glucose negative

Conclusion I got 4 right, Egg, Milk, apple and bread

Discussion it was fun to do and I would like to do it again but with different foods and chemicals, I learnt what simple and complex sugars and that apples are complex
