Growth mindset

During power time we have been learning about a growth mindset. we watched a short video about Luke sky walker  and Yoda lifting an x-wing out of the lake. Luke had a fixed mindset. A fixed mindset is where you say you cant do it and it is too hard. Yoda taught him how to have a growth mindset. a growth mindset is where you say you've got this and i can do this. We talked what we could say to ourselves to change from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset. Here is my DLO

rainyday art

WALT: to do a rainy day picture and dye it black and blue

For literacy we have been learning about the weather. We used crayon and dye to create a rainy day picture. first i used white crayon do do the rain. Next i drew a rainbow with crayons. i had to make sure there were no white bits in the rainbow. after that i used different color of dye to paint the cloudy dark sky

 

Penguin art

We have been learning about Antarctica for the past few weeks. We went to the antarctic center for a school trip. We painted pictures of penguins. First I carefully sketched a penguin then I painted the black feathers. When that was dry we pained the orange feathers and beak. Lastly I painted the yellow feathers I had to make sure I painted the feathers to look like real feathers

Reflective symmetry

In maths we have been learning about symmetry. Reflective symmetry is a shape that is the same on both sides with  a mirror in between. We played the mirror game and we used shapes to create reflective symmetry.

Draft Writing	BRRRRR! It's cold here. I can't believe it is this cold here. This is the coldest continent in the world. How do people live here. It is at the bottom of the world. Some months has sun and no night, some months is night and has no day. It is a desert because it never rains in antarctica and in other deserts it never rains too! Isn't that weird? I really love the looks of this place and i really want to go there.
