Hello, For the past 2 weeks I have been working on a growth mindset slide show in class.
This includes stuff about how the brain grows, a video on Growth mindset, definitions of what some words mean. People who have become famous for not giving up. We are doing this because we need to learn about not giving up and working to your best ability.
Here is the slide show I have made.

The Present

How would you describe the boy at the start of the video? He was concentrated on his game and confused when his mum gave him the box. then he kept gaming
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The boy didn't like is present because it was missing half a leg. I know that because he ignored it, then when he opened it he threw the dog to the floor.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He felt that way because it had a missing leg and he wanted to keep on playing his game.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What lesson did the boy learn by the end of the film? That be nice to others even if they are different. be grateful even if it is something you don't like.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is important to be grateful because there are places on earth where people have basically nothing and cant do anything to help it.

Workshop 3: How do' Lighting & Colour' enhance the story?

Atmosphere - How do you feel in a situation mood.
Scene - Auggies first day at school - when Auggie walks into class, everybody stares at him, when he tries to sit down Amos says the seat is saved.

Angles/Shot - Long shot / Eye level of the class, Close up of Auggie to see his emotional reactions
Lighting + colour  - Palette - Colour used in the scene Eg, Nature pallet has colours from nature
Warm/Cold  warm makes us feel safe and comfortable
-The cold makes us feel clean and unhappy
Bright - Vibrant, Jumps out
Dull - Faded, Muted, Blends in
Natural - Sun - Moonlight
Artificial Man-made light e.g lightbulbs.

Lighting + Colour - Warm - Makes the classroom feel safe + welcoming.
                             - Bright colours - Gives the room energy and life
                             - Natural light coming through the windows
Effect on the viewer - Happy, Chilled, Exciting, Educational, Inspiring
Director - Wants to create a happy and safe atmosphere in Mr Brown's classroom, even though it feels this way Julien and Amos's behaviour is unkind.

In the scene of August's first day at school, lighting & colour are used to create a safe and welcoming classroom environment.  For instance, Bright warm colours are used on the walls and natural light come through the windows to make the space look lively. this made the audience feel excited, inspired, and that the space is educational an supportive for learning, This was done to show Mr Brown had created a classroom space that would be welcoming to mew students like Auggie
coinciding with this the use of body language. the children in the room are sitting up smiling and paying lots of attention, they are learning ready, this reminds the viewers of kindness because of the lighting and the colour make the room welcoming for all students
